The Hygienists
Crystal
Crystal comes to us with a long and varied dental background. She is a great asset to our hygiene department and we are glad to have her.
Crystal was born and raised in Centralia, WA. She went to dental assisting school in Olympia, at South Puget Sound Community College. After working for five years as a dental assistant, she returned to school to pursue a Dental Hygiene degree.
She attended Dental Hygiene school in Yakima, WA and graduated in 2003 and has been working ever since. Crystal continued her education and received a Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene degree from Eastern Washington University in 2008.
Crystal and her husband Mike have lived here in Shelton since 2005. They recently welcomed their first child into the world, daughter Amelia. They enjoy spending time with their families, camping, and hiking.
Melissa
Melissa is a long time Shelton resident and has been a dental hygienist since 2006. Melissa started her career in the dental field in 2002 as a dental assistant in an orthodontic pediatric office in Tumwater. In 2006, she graduated from Pierce College, with an Associates of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene and received the “Hu Friedy Golden Scaler Award.” Melissa furthered her education at Eastern Washington University, where she obtained a Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene.
Melissa has great organizational and leadership skills and we look to her for keeping us all on task. Melissa enjoys working with patients of all ages while educating them about the importance of oral health. In her spare time she enjoys riding her quad at the Oregon sand dunes, spending time with friends and family, scrap booking and working in her yard.
Amber
"Hi! My name is Amber, and I graduated with honors from Yakima Valley Community College’s Dental Hygiene program in June of 2009. I have been working at Shelton Dental Center since October 2009. I have a passion for Dental Hygiene and do everything I can to make each patient feel comfortable and have an enjoyable dental experience. Prior to Dental Hygiene school I enjoyed working as a Certified Dental Assistant for five years.
I have been married to my husband Robert for six years and we live in Montesano, WA. I am very close to my family and am grateful for every day that I get to spend with them. I look forward to meeting you and helping you realize and achieve your Oral Health goals!"
